Well done to Aaron Durant who this week became the winner of the new Junior Student of the Month at the Ashford Academy.
Monday 23rd June
ANOTHER CHAMPION FOR TKO.

Rob Burbridge became the IKF Southern Area Amateur Super-Middleweight Champion when he beat Chris James in Bridgewater on Sunday. It was fight of the night and probably the best fight we have been involved in this year. It was a 5 round war with Rob edging the last 2 rounds to take the title.

Wayne Kennedy made it an even better night for us when he took his third win by outpointing a very tough opponent in Krystof (no surname at moment) from Weston Super-mare. Check the website and your e-mail newsletters for details of our teams next outing. Carla Jessup beat Whitney Huish (Ireland) by points dec.
Louise Orton beat Tracy Beatty (Body Power) by 2 nd rd TKO
Tom Cunningham beat Wayne Golding (Gatwick) by points dec
Joe Wells beat Ali Cahill (Samurai) by points dec
Wayne Kennedy beat John Paul Riley (Body Power) by 3rd rd retirement
Matt Gilbert lost closely to Ian Walsh (Ireland)
TKO AT PAIN AND GLORY
Pain and Glory is the biggest combat sports event held in the UK. Over 2000 people watched the event at the Excel centre in London and some of the countries top fighters were fighting from Thai Boxing, MMA, K1 and Kickboxing. We are proud to say that TKO supplied all the judges for the kickboxing, which was sanctioned by the International Kickboxing Federation. Colin Payne, Warren Fryer and Ian Lohoar had a great night judging the fights that featured Nick Gill, Suky Shoria and Qasim the Dream Nisar against top German opponents. Another indication of the sort of opportunities that we are able to give to members of TKO who wish to pursue a career in judging.
BRITISH LIGHT CONTINUOUS COUNCIL

Chief Instructor Colin Payne has been invited to join the management committee for the BLCC (British Light Continuous Council) and has been appointed as regional Director for the South of England. This is good news for all members as it further helps to maintain TKO in the forefront of all kickboxing activity in the country. No other kickboxing clubs in Kent can match the opportunities we can offer in full contact and with this it now means that we are also the only place to be if you want to compete in light contact as well.

50 ROUNDS DOWN AND SET FOR FLORIDA
Saturday 12th April
Well done to all 9 members of the TKO team who are going to the I.K.F. World Championships in Florida in July. To help raise money to fund the trip they all completed 50 rounds of sparring and with it raised some much needed sponsorship money.
All 9 I know would like to thank all those who came down and supported them and did of course all the sparring required for them to reach the 50.
The 9 who completed the task were Joe Wells, Ashley Collins, Louise Orton, Ben Cressey, Tom Cunningham, Dan Chubb, Matt Gilbert, Carla Jessup and Ashley Hook.

LOUISE ORTON AND TOM CUNNINGHAM GET ANOTHER WIN...AND SAME AS
LAST TIME.
Saturday 5th April
Louise and Tom went to Matlock, Derbyshire for their second fights and both came away with wins. Louise got another 1st round win over Tanya Spencer from Nottingham whilst Tom again won in the second round stopping Jez Shimwell from the home town club Jesters Gym.
Thanks to all the people who came to support, it was a long way to go so I know it was appreciated.
MIXED FORTUNES IN SCOTLAND
On the latest away trip for TKO we had one win and one loss after a long trip to Aberdeen.
Rob Burbridge got a very good clear points win over Mark Anderson, and his lead was never in doubt.
Ashley Collins although clearly winning his fight was victim of the kick-count in use on the show and judged not to have thrown enough kicks in one of the rounds lost a close points decision. A rematch is being sought for next February
Thanks go to Albert Ross for his hospitality at the show.
