Half day options could be: A visit to the New Forest National Park. In 1079 William the Conqueror named the area his 'hunting forest'. This is a truly amazing experience where you will see the famous New Forest Ponies roaming free. A truly unique photograph experience. Then maybe lunch at a traditional English pub or a Cream Tea at the village of Lyndhurst or Beaulieu.
How about a short drive to Portsmouth's Historic Navel Dockyard where you will take an unbelievably 'real' journey through time when you visit HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose.
Another option is the historic capital of England and the ancient Kingdom of Wessex the town of Winchester where we can arrange for a personal guided tour of Winchester Cathedral (resting place of Jane Austen) and the Great Hall where you can view King Arthur's Round Table, which dates back to the 14th Century.
If you have a little more time available then why not spend the day of arrival or departure taking in the sights of the prehistoric Stonehenge (estimated age 3100 BC) and the Gothic 800 year old Salisbury Cathedral with the tallest spire in England at 123m (404ft). Maybe also include a trip into the City of Bath described as one of England's most beautiful places to visit, renowned for it's Hot Springs and Roman Baths.
Windsor Castle may be a good idea. This is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and one of the official residences of Her Majesty the Queen. This dramatic site encapsulates 900 years of British History. This trip can easily be combined if you are en-route to a London hotel or a late flight out of London Heathrow or Gatwick airports.

My Wife and I (60/62) booked a cruise departing from Southampton in April 05. We live on Vancouver Island, Victoria in Canada so a 10hr flight + 8hrs ahead time zone to London and arranged for Imperial Cars Southampton to transfer us to and from our cruise ship. Excellent Transfer Service 25/06/2008
I am a travel agent and booked this transfer on behalf of my clients. It is the first time I have used the business, but I will definitely be using them again. The service was brilliant, and Anthony was particularly helpful.
